Vegan Glory: Vegan Restaurant Review

Vegan Glory, located in Central LA, is always busy. That should say something, shouldn’t it? This restaurant has glorious vegan food, hence the name. They have a range of dishes, from Asian to Mexican. Their specialty is foods from Thailand, but their other meals are magnificent, too! Let’s just get to the review, shall we? BTW, I’m so sorry that I only have 1 photo. We were so hungry, I forgot to take photos!

Chicken Satay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What is it:

5 soy chicken pieces on skewers, cooked in turmeric and curry spices.

Served with peanut sauce.

The chicken satay is magnificent, and the peanut sauce that comes with it makes my taste buds go wild! It’s creamy, and not too sweet. Perfect side kick to the chicken skewers!

The soy chicken’s texture is baffling. Everytime I go, I ask myself, “Is this really vegan?” Then I remember that their name is Vegan Glory.

Beef Jerky ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What is it:

A pile of “beef jerky” probably made from Seitan. Seasoned with soy sauce, and other things I don’t know. A tiny salad comes on the side. I think mainly for decoration.

This is the best beef jerky. It is so satiating, it is making my mouth water just thinking about it. The crunchy crispiness, mixed with the saltiness, and coriander seeds is something I would kill for. Kill plants, of course.

It also goes spectacularly well with the red chile sauce and the peanut sauce from the chicken satay. Um, yum?!

Miso Soup ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What is it:

Miso is a fermented soy paste. It is very salty, but is good for your gut, just as long as you aren’t sensitive to soy. You can mix miso paste with hot water to make a broth, and that is the base of the soup.

In the soup was: little cubes of tofu, mushrooms, and green onions.

Miso soup is one of my favorite Asian style soups. The saltiness just makes my mouth water after taking one slurp. The Miso Soup at Vegan Glory is the best one I’ve had in my life! The mushrooms really add to the flavor, and give the soup more depth and texture. Another thing I like about this soup, is that it’s cheap! $2.95 for a bowl. That’s a deal!

Pad Thai (with Soy Shrimp) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pad Thai with Soy Shrimp, Vegan Glory

This is the one plate I actually have a photo of! This photo was taken about halfway through. 🤣

What is it:

Pad Thai noodles with soy shrimp in a sweet and tangy sauce. Served with bean sprouts on the side. You can choose your protein.

My mouth whilst eating this dish was salivating and inhaling. I swear I took maybe 2 chews per bite, but it was so good, I couldn’t help myself! The sauce was sweet and tangy. A little different than the Pad Thai I’m used to, but was still delicious. I’m so amazed at what vegan food companies can do. The soy shrimp actually looked like shrimp!! I wish I would have taken a photo of that up close. Next time we go, I will, and add it to this post. It’s so mind boggling.

The reason I didn’t give this a 5 star rating is because the noodles were sticking together a lot. It was kind of hard to eat smaller bites.

Orange Peel Chicken (with extra Broccoli) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What is it:

A pile of battered soy chicken smothered in a glaze of orange sauce, topped on a bed of broccoli. Served with a huge scoop of steamy brown rice.

This was the dish Brad decided to get, and he loved it. I tried 1 piece of the chicken, broccoli and rice, and I was hooked. The chicken reminded me of when I was a child and we would go to a Chinese buffet. I use to love those little chicken bites, and this made me remember those. This may sound kind of funny, but the chicken is kind of fluffy (in a good way). And, you may as well get that extra Broccoli for those broccoli gains!!

As you can tell from my star ratings, I love Vegan Glory. It is one of my favorite restaurants in LA, and maybe the best I’ve ever tried. The next time you go to LA, or you’re just trying to figure out where to go for dinner, go toVegan Glory. You won’t regret it.

P.S. Their food is great heated up in the Instant Pot! Just add a tiny bit oil or water to the pot, set to saute on low, and once it’s hot, add your left overs and keep stirring! It won’t take long to heat up, and you’ll have another meal from Vegan Glory! Who wouldn’t want that?
