Doomie’s #NextMex: Vegan Restaurant Review

Doomie’s Home Cooking is a favored restaurant in West Hollywood by junk food vegans and meat eaters alike. They have delicacies such as the Mac n Cheese Burger, mozzarella sticks, jalepeno poppers, and tons of styles of fries. I guess they were doing so well with their Home Style for, they thought they’d open an all vegan Mexican restaurant next door! At #NextMex they have all the traditional dishes like burritos, flautas, nachos, quesadillas, tacos, chile relleno, and so much more! Watch dish comes with a choice of “meat.” You can choose from asada (beef), pollo (chicken), carnitas (pork), and al pastor (pork with pineapple). Of course all of the “meats” and cheeses are vegan, made from plants. I must say, they are the most believable vegan meats and cheeses I’ve ever seen or tasted. Let’s start the review, shall we?

Pollo Burrito Chimi & Wet Style (Combo) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have to be honest. I’m not entirely sure what all is in this fried tortilla of deliciousness, but it didn’t really matter to me. When the waitress brought it to the table, Brad and I were in awe. It’s so beautiful! I knew I had to take a photo. The presentation is really up to par, possibly beyond if they used porcelain plates. 😉

I can tell you what’s on top: sour cream, cheese, enchilada sauce (I think), and cilantro (it doesn’t take like soap!!😐). The toppings really make it stand out. These are what make it “wet.” What makes it “Chimi” is the fact that they deep fry it. It’s a chimichanga. As you can tell, this is very healthy (wink wink).

The inside is filled with whatever burritos are normally filled with. I chose pollo as my “meat,” and let me tell you, it totally reminded me of this Mexican restaurant back in Nashville, TN called Las Palmas. The chik’n was shredded, just like I remember. It was seasoned so well, and I guarantee that a meat lover would think this is real. Trust me.

This wet and chimi style burrito from Doomie’s #NextMex is the best burrito I’ve ever tasted. Also, it is huge! I only ate half, and had the rest later. It was still good!
