🎶 It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Yep, that’s right, it’s almost Halloween, so go to your local grocer and stock up on candy before everyone else gets to it! Just kidding, there’ll be plenty at 75% off a week after the holiday. But, if you want candy now, and don’t want to give trick-or-treaters animal products on All Hallows Eve (who would?), this list of the BEST vegan Halloween candy is for you!
1. UNREAL Peanut Butter Cups
I used to be a fiend for those popular peanut butter cups, but then I went vegan and stopped contributing to animal suffering in as many aspects of my life as possible. Eventually, I found it that there are vegan alternatives to everything, so I inevitably found out about the UNREAL brand. They have all the chocolate treats you crave, but vegan! These are perfect to bribe the tricksters on your porch out of TPing your yard!
2. Air Heads
Got a big sweet tooth? Try Air Heads this Halloween. They’re fun, colorful, and change the color of your tongue! Embrace your inner child.
3. Cracker Jack’s
Alright, so I know this isn’t a candy, but can you believe there’s a caramel popcorn that’s vegan? These are perfect for the witches and gargoyles stopping on your doorstep, and each bag comes with a toy inside, so you’re gauranteed to not get a trick played on you!
4. Hubba Bubba Bubblegum
You know that wonderful powdery bubble gum from childhood? It’s vegan, too! You and your trick-or-treaters can enjoy this sweet, jaw strengthening treat, and I’ll promise not to burst your bubble! 😉
5. Swedish Fish (Most Varieties)
Note: some Swedish Fish varieties contain beeswax, so be sure to check the label!
I had to include a gummy candy on this list, even though I’m not a big fan! Swedish Fish are just one of the many gummy varieties that are vegan, another being Annie’s Homegrown. Most of the time gummies are made with gelatin, which is animal-derived, but these are made with another type of plant wax called carnuba wax. Ahhhh, a sigh of relief.
6. Dum Dums
Yep, those teeny tiny lollipops are all for you to enjoy this Halloween season! They’re the perfect sweet treat because they’re not too big, and you can just leave it in your mouth to suck on. Perfect for your mid-afternoon sweet tooth.
There you have it, the best vegan Halloween candy of 2018! There are tons of candies that are vegan, and you can see a complete list of accidentally vegan products here.
