What is the Best Vegan Whipped Cream?

It’s time to make pumpkin, apple, and/or pecan pie, so what do you top it with? There are a few different options for toppings like ice cream, whipped cream, or none! In this blog post I’ll be talking about the best vegan whipped cream for topping pies, and other desserts!

Soyatoo!

The first vegan whipped cream I’d like to talk about is Soyatoo! This brand offers soy-based, rice-based and coconut-based whipped cream in a nozzled can. The Rice Whip is pretty good, but I haven’t tried the others. I love that it is in a can, and comes out like ‘normal’ whipped cream, for lack of a better term.

SoDelicious Coco Whip!

For all of you people who used to love Cool Whip, this is an amazing vegan alternative! It has the same consistency (light, fluffy and smooth), and is perfectly sweet. The only downside is that it does have a coconut flavor because it is made from coconut cream. But, if you’re adding it to the right thing (like pie, ice cream, etc) it can really add more depth to the dish.

365 Brand Coconut Whipped Topping

This Whole Foods brand of vegan whipped cream is pretty amazing. It comes in a can, like the Soyatoo! and tastes awesome. It’s denser than than the Rice Whip I tried from the Soyatoo! brand, which makes it seem creamier. This is probably because it’s coconut-based, instead of rice-based. This fluffy treat is great because it is cost effective, and again comes in a can.

Apparently Reddi-Wip has made vegan almond-based and coconut-based whipped creams. This is pretty amazing because Reddi-Wip is probably the biggest brand out there for whipped cream. I haven’t tried them yet, but I plan to because I think it’s important to support vegan products that non-vegan companies produce. The more people buy it, the more they’ll produce it, and in the future they’ll most likely switch to all vegan products. We have the power in our wallets!

So, which is the BEST, Ally?

To be honest with you, it really depends on the flavors you like. I would personally recommend the SoDelicious Coco Whip because I was a fan of CoolWhip, and this one is most like it! For other things like topping hot cocoa and coffee, I would suggest the Soyatoo! or 365 brands because they are lighter and can stay on top of warm drinks. I know a lot of people don’t like the taste of coconut, so I tried to include a few different options for them.
